Summer trend: Urban traveller...

Summer is almost upon us (despite the weather) and you know what that means…it’s time to transform our wardrobes to my favourite trend, tribal.

Perfect for festivals and my destinations for the season Mexico and Ibiza the trend is sure to be a hit throughout most of our wardrobes. With Aztec and animal prints teamed with fringing, tie dye and vintage denim making their way onto the high street, this is most definitely the one to be wearing this summer.

Think Mary Kate Olsen, Sienna Miller and Gillian Zinser. Very much like the bohemian/gypsy style trend, the main theme of the urban traveller is for the outfit to supposedly be made up of garments from different parts of the world - representing different cultures.

Accessories and garments are mainly influenced by places like South America, Africa and the Middle-East, thus, making the wearer look extremely ‘well-travelled’.

The likes of Jessica Szohr, Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, Kim Kardashian and Nicola Roberts have already been seen sporting some key pieces and Donna Karen has even done a tribal inspired collection for spring 2012. It’s most definitely going to be a hit this summer with Topshop, Asos and River Island to name a few, being heavily inspired by the trend so get shopping.

New designer alert: Hayley Lomax

My good friend Hayley Lomax has recently set up a website to showcase her latest designs. Hayley, a recent graduate from Manchester Metropolitan University is a rare talent looking to make her debut into the ever changing world of fashion. Her Bio reads, "Hayleys' designs have an emphasis on texture, sourcing unique and statement fabrics that along with a muted colour palette gives the collection an earthy & raw feel".

I absolutely love the collection featuring unique yet sophisticated silhouettes with extremely elegant fabrics. Hayley takes influence from a number of different designers both high street and high end which combined have proven to work extremely well.

The up and coming designer is most definitely one to look out for, so to keep up to date with her most recent creations take a look at her website www.hayleylomax.com and follow her on Twitter @Hayley_Lomax
