As always it's July here in the UK and we've had approximately one weeks worth of sun, whilst the rest of the world gets three whole months. So rather than dwell on the fact that it's impossible to get any sort of tan here lets take a more positive outlook on winter and the fact that all of our favourite retailers are beginning to launch their autumn/winter 2012 trends.
As you've already seen in some previous blogposts as well as in my articles for www.businesssboombolton.com I have already discussed the autumn/winter collections from my favourite designers. So now it's time to see which high street retailers have decided to take influence, and which main trends each have decided to focus on.
Earlier in the year we all saw the different takes on military uniform by Victoria Beckham, Topshop Unique, Burberry Prorsum and Alexander McQueen, ASOS will also be releasing a similar trend very soon with sharp tailoring, lots of khaki and Parkas being key pieces.
Topshop have already launched their military trend but of course with a 'Topshop twist' in the form of 'Pretty Military'. Featuring the standard khaki jackets and shirts, chunky knits, studding and laced up boots however, teamed with sequin dresses, lots of embellishment, metallics and pussy bow blouses to give it that feminine edge.
Hopefully you all saw my post from 8th March on my favourite collection from Milan Fashion Week, Dolce & Gabbana. Based on styles from the Baroque era I absolutely loved it. Lanvin, Giles and Marni also did collections based on the same trend so I am glad to announce that both Asos and River Island will also be launching a similar trend very soon. I'm thinking Zara would do this trend amazingly well but guess we'll have to just wait and see. Buy yourself a statement embellished jacket and you'll be right on trend for next season.
Gothic collections seem to make an appearance almost every year as we saw in the collections of Versace, Givenchy, Valentino and Gucci. Asos will also be doing this trend as will a number of other high street shops I'm guessing.
Have fun shopping guys :)
